Auckland Branch - Trusts, LAQC’S & GST Seminar

In conveyancing Legal Executives act for clients who are buying residential and commercial investment properties. The aim of the seminar is to provide awareness to LE’s providing legal advice, of the impact on ownership and taxation issues if certain matters are not considered when clients are purchasing properties, from an accounting perspective

O’Hallaron Accountants, is one of the largest residential property investor client bases in New Zealand. The presenters will be Clyde Young – Director, Kiran Bhikha – Business Services Manager, and Debbie McKenzie – Rental Manager.

Some of the topics being covered will be: the types of investors, what entity should be used to purchase property, GST implications and what can go wrong, legal advisers working with the accountant, and some horror stories.

The proceeds of this seminar are being donated to the Carolyn Wilcock Riley Memorial Trust. Carolyn Riley passed away in August 1998. She was passionate about NZILE and a great asset to the Auckland Committee. After Carolyn's death the trust was set up with the aim of helping disadvantaged Legal Executives to gain further education, as Carolyn was a small person. The Trust is lacking funds. Due to Auckland Branch's successful education programme, we thought it appropriate to direct the proceeds of this seminar towards education of a disadvantaged LE.

VENUE: At the offices of Bell Gully, Solicitors, Conference Room, Level 22, 48 Shortland Street, Auckland City.

DATE & TIME: Tuesday, 5 July 2005, 12 pm to 2pm – The seminar will commence at 12.20pm to enable you time to eat lunch and network.
