NORTHLAND BRANCH and LINZ ARE PLEASED TO PRESENT A SEMINAR
FOR ALL LEGAL EXECUTIVES AND LEGAL STAFF ON Wednesday 1 December
2004
As you are all no doubt aware, LINZ has been working towards
a paperless system for registration and titles and a few of
you will already have eDealing in your offices. In due course
eDealing will be the preferred way for practitioners to register
documents at LINZ subsequent to settlement. LINZ is currently
looking at enabling eDealing of the less common types of documents.
LINZ will be presenting on the following issues:
- workflow changes around e-dealing adoption
- e-dealing features
- support you can get while using e-dealing
- A live demonstration of e-dealing by LINZ eDealing expert,
Julie Gillat.
You will be provided with workflow guidance information,
as well as e-dealing training CD's and general information
packs.
This is a seminar of interest to LE's as employees and as
professionals to keep updated on the changes to technology
in the legal sector.

Branch Seminar - Holidays Act 2003
Do you know your entitlements under the new Holidays Act
2003? Are you able to advise your clients of their obligations
as employers? The Holiday's Act 2003 has been a controversial
piece of legislation. Alex Witten-Hannah of Witten-Hannah
Howard, will speak on how this legislation has affected employee
contracts and employer obligations.
Alex has over 30 years legal experience in litigation and
mediation. Alex is a keen adventurer (climbed high on Everest
with Peter Hillary in 1982) and a sailor and very entertaining

Jane Holland is Senior Associate in the property team at
Bell Gully. Jane emigrated to NZ from England 7 years ago
where she had been working as a commercial property lawyer.
Jane specialises in commercial leasing and is the co-author
of recent Property Council leases. Jane will summarise key
areas from the NZLS leasing seminar she presented last year-
a mixture of practical and legal issues. Its fair to say the
seminars were very well received. This seminar should be of
interest to all LE's especially those who act for business
clients.
