The NZILE is administered by its Council. Each region in New Zealand that has established a Branch of the Institute has a delegate to represent it on the National Council. The remaining Councillors are elected at the Annual General Meeting. The President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer are elected by Council at its first meeting following the Annual General Meeting.

The NZILE Council meets once a month, generally these meetings are by teleconference telephone call. Three or four times a year the Council meets face to face, generally in Auckland.

Erin Gibson (email)
Willis Toomey Robinson
Ph: 06 835 3229

I have worked as a legal executive for just over 20 years. I started out at Willis Toomey Robinson in Napier and then did a lengthy stint at Langley Twigg, returning to Willis Toomey Robinson about three years ago. I have always worked in the Family Law area although I have tried my hand at a bit of conveyancing and immigration work. I have always held an interest in Family Law especially the area of Child Law and Domestic Violence. I basically run my own practice with referral to our team solicitor or the partner in charge of our team when required. As well as this, I am a tutor for the NZLS Legal Executive Course introduction paper "Law Office Practice". I have tutored this paper for three years and enjoy being involved in education. I started off my career as a teacher and like the challenge of making it fun and interesting. I am also a Justice of the Peace. I enjoy time with friends and family and travelling. Last year I went to Korea and this year I am off to Italy for six weeks. I live in sunny Hawkes Bay and truly love the life style here. We are lucky to have great wineries and a number of fabulous events throughout the year.
