NZILE Council
The New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives Inc is governed by a National Council. Each region in New Zealand that has established a branch of the Institute has a delegate to represent it on the National Council. The remaining councillors are elected at the annual general meeting. The President, Vice President and Treasurer are elected by Council at its first meeting following the annual general meeting.
The NZILE Council meets once a month, by teleconference or ‘face to face’. Face to face meetings are usually held in Auckland, except for the last meeting of the year, which is held in another centre (alternating between the North and South Islands) and coincides with a social function for members in that region.
The day to day management of the Institute is the responsibility of the Executive Officer. Jo Buckton has held that role since 2001 and is based at the Institute’s office in Auckland.
