ABOUT NZILE

What is the Institute?
The New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives Inc (the Institute) is a non-profit incorporated society set up and run by Legal Executives for the benefit of Legal Executives. Its aims are to advance and protect the status and interests of Legal Executives and promote unity, co-operation and mutual assistance among Legal Executives. Through its Branches the Institute also aims to provide continuing education for Legal Executives. At present it has approximately 650 Members.

Code of Ethics
All Members of the Institute have to comply with the Institute's Code of Ethics. The Institute can discipline its Members by suspending or excluding them from membership.

Who runs the Institute?
The NZILE is administered by its Council. Each region in New Zealand that has established a Branch of the Institute has a delegate to represent it on the National Council. The remaining Councillors are elected at the Annual General Meeting. The President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer are elected by Council at its first meeting following the Annual General Meeting.
